What a fucked up day!! No thanks to the police of course!! What the hell were they trying to do? Setting up roadblocks to almost all entrances to the city...I myself was caught in the jam for 1 1/2 hours on the Federal highway for a 15 km drive!!! And when you reach the roadblock site you see the policemen chatting and laughing among themselves...so wtf?
Who's gonna pay for the wasted time, wasted petrol burnt needlessly in the jam, the people who get laid off because they are late for work, missed appointments, missed business opportunities bla bla... Yeah who's gonna pay??? I probably burnt 30km worth of petrol (and probably a few days of my life due to the excess stress) yesterday and had to refill my tank earlier than expected!
And our esteemed Prime Minister has this to say...
The Prime Minister blamed the situation on those who planned to hold demonstrations and said the police were only doing their job of maintaining order and public safety.
First of all I don't think there was ever ANY planned demonstration!!! And the government was so stupid and senseless to fall hook, line and sinker for rumours, and going overboard with their response!! Just goes to show the mentality of the BN today, doing anything and everything to maintain their tenuous grip on power!
And secondly...I just wonder whose safety are the police trying to safeguard???
